New Report: Systematic Houthi Property Confiscations Threaten Livelihoods and Fuel Conflict

Justice4Yemen Pact Coalition has released a new report uncovering the systematic confiscation of properties by the Houthi de facto authorities in Yemen. Since 2017, these authorities have seized the assets of journalists, activists, and politicians under various pretexts, including accusations of treason and claims of religious endowment ownership. These confiscations have not only funded the war effort but also displaced families and undermined livelihoods. The report highlights numerous cases where individuals—both opponents and loyalists—have had their properties arbitrarily taken, often in violation of international law. As property seizures continue to fuel grievances and deepen divisions, this report serves as a crucial resource for understanding the scale of human rights violations and the urgent need for justice and accountability.
