Chasing Death: An Investigative Report on the Systematic Targeting of Hodeidah Journalists

Free Media Center for Investigative Journalism has released a new report, Chasing Death,” exposing the systematic targeting of journalists from Hodeidah. The investigation reveals how journalists who fled Houthi-controlled areas continued to face persecution, including threats, abductions, and assassinations, even in government-controlled regions. It documents the murder of journalist Rasha Al-Harazi in a car bombing, the assassination of Saber Al-Haidari, and the attempted killing of Mahmoud Al-Otmi, presenting new evidence linking Houthi intelligence services to these attacks. The report underscores the urgent need for justice, accountability, and stronger protections for journalists working in one of the world’s most dangerous environments for the press.
