In the fourth episode of the “Rights” podcast, produced by Justice for Yemen Coalition member, Abductees’ Mothers Association, the harrowing case of Khaled Al-Haith is examined. Following a critical surgical procedure, Khaled endured severe mistreatment at the hands of the Houthis, who immediately shackled him post-operation. His hands remained bound during every subsequent visit to the doctor, with restraints only removed upon the explicit request of the physician. After Khaled’s tragic death, the Houthis compounded the family’s suffering by refusing to release his body unless they paid additional fees, under the pretext of medical expenses—despite the family having already covered the surgery costs in full. This episode sheds light on the egregious violations faced by abductees and the inhumane conditions imposed on them.
