The statement notes that thousands of cases have been documented since the outbreak of the conflict, while emphasizing that the true scale of the crime remains unknown due to underreporting, fear among affected families, and efforts to conceal evidence. It also raises concerns over recent revelations regarding secret detention facilities and previously undisclosed cases of enforced disappearance.

The coalition calls for the issue of enforced disappearance to be placed at the center of any future peace and transitional justice process in Yemen, stressing the rights of victims and their families to truth, justice, and reparation. The statement urges all parties to the conflict to disclose the fate and whereabouts of disappeared persons, end arbitrary detention practices, and ensure compliance with international standards. It further calls on the Yemeni government, the United Nations, the Human Rights Council, and the international community to establish effective accountability and investigative mechanisms capable of documenting violations, preserving evidence, and ensuring that perpetrators are held accountable.
