Rasd Coalition Advocates for Yemen’s IDP Children in Taiz

Yemeni Coalition for Monitoring Human Rights Violations (Rasd Coalition), a partner in the SAFE project, hosted a transformative seminar at Al-Nasr IDPs Camp in Taiz Governorate, addressing the six grave violations against children during conflict. Targeting over 60 children and their caregivers, the event empowered displaced families with legal, psychological, and social awareness under the theme “For a Safe Childhood.”

Mutahhar Al-Bathiji, CEO of Rasd Coalition, highlighted that this seminar is part of the ongoing Supporting Awareness, Facilitating Enforcement of Children’s Rights in the Yemeni Conflict – Phase II project, running from October 2024 to March 2026. He emphasized the seminar’s goal of raising awareness about children’s rights, introducing reporting and accountability mechanisms, and enhancing transitional justice’s role in aiding affected children

Through compelling discussions and a moving short film, participants explored the harsh realities faced by children—ranging from recruitment and denial of aid to emotional and societal impacts. Experts provided actionable insights on rights protection, reporting violations, and offering support for recovery and resilience. Committed to justice and accountability, Rasd Coalition stands as a beacon of hope, working tirelessly to ensure Yemen’s children have a safer, brighter future.
