On the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, the Justice for Yemen Pact (J4YP) highlights the rising number of Yemenis with disabilities—now nearly five million—due to conflict, explosive weapons, and collapsing services. Despite Yemen’s commitments under the CRPD, persons with disabilities continue to face major barriers in education, health, protection, and access to humanitarian aid.
The statement calls for urgent disability-inclusive policies, rehabilitation of schools and centers, accessible humanitarian services, stronger protection for women and girls, economic empowerment, and independent accountability for violations. The Coalition reaffirms its commitment to ensuring dignity, rights, and full participation for persons with disabilities across Yemen.
