On this International Day of Education, we the undersigned organizations and advocates, highlight the devastating impact of Yemen’s ongoing conflict on the education sector. Millions of children are deprived of their right to learn due to the destruction of schools, prolonged disruptions, and unsafe conditions. Teachers face delayed salaries and resource shortages, further undermining the education system. The absence of safe and accessible education has increased children’s vulnerability to exploitation, recruitment, and early marriage, particularly among marginalized communities. We urge all stakeholders to prioritize rebuilding Yemen’s education system, ensuring inclusive and equitable access for all. Education is essential for peace, stability, and a brighter future for Yemen’s children.
