As Yemen’s conflict enters its tenth year, millions of children remain denied their right to education due to school destruction, military use of educational facilities, and the collapse of the education system. Education is a protected civilian right under international law and a foundation for sustainable peace.
On this day, Yemeni civil society organizations, including the Justice4 Yemen Pact Coalition, call on all parties to the conflict to immediately end attacks on schools, prohibit their military use, protect children from recruitment, and take urgent steps to restore and adequately fund education—starting with safeguarding schools and ensuring teachers’ rights.
