Fields of Silent Death Report: The Humanitarian Toll of Landmines in Marib, Yemen

Marib Dam Foundation, member of Justice4Yemen Pact Coalition has released the “Silent Death Fields” report, a comprehensive report documenting the devastating impact of landmines and explosive remnants of war in Marib Governorate from January 2023 to October 2024. It documents 68 civilian victims, including 22 deaths and 34 injuries, with children making up nearly half of the casualties. Incidents span six districts, severely affecting displacement camps, roads, and livelihoods. The report attributes 69% of incidents to Houthi forces and underscores the urgent need for mine clearance, victim support, and accountability. It calls for international collaboration and the integration of mine-related issues into peace efforts to ensure safety and justice for affected communities.
