Investigative Report: The Targeting of Taiz Photojournalists

Free Media Center for Investigative Journalism, member of Justic4Yemen Pact Coalition has released a detailed report, “Last Fire Photos,” documenting the targeted killing of five Yemeni photojournalists in Taiz. These journalists—Ahmed Al-Shaibani, Taqi Al-Din Al-Huthaifi, Wael Al-Absi, Saad Al-Nadhari, and Mohammed Al-Qadasi—were killed by Houthi forces while covering the conflict in different parts of the city. The investigation uncovers the circumstances of their deaths, linking them to sniping, artillery, and missile attacks.

The report highlights the systematic targeting of journalists, the lack of official investigations, and the continued impunity for crimes against the press. It calls for an independent international inquiry into journalist assassinations in Yemen and urges authorities to ensure justice for victims and protection for media workers operating in conflict zones.
