From Chile to Yemen | Lessons in Transitional Justice and Building Lasting Peace

This video presents a summary of a new study titled “From Chile to Yemen: Lessons in Transitional Justice.” The study explores Chile’s experience in transitional justice—showing how civil society played a key role in documenting violations, uncovering the truth, repairing victims’ harm, and transforming former repression centers into spaces of national memory. It also examines the reality and challenges of transitional justice in Yemen, and how lessons from Chile can help build a fair and lasting peace that puts victims at the heart of the process. The study was conducted by SAM Organization for Rights and Liberties, in partnership with the Mothers of Abductees Association, and supported by DT Institute under the SPARK Project, which works to strengthen civil society’s role in justice and peacebuilding in Yemen.
